My Darling Arch

After much soul searching and after having a second opinion tonight I've decided to say good bye to my darling Arch. He's stopped eating and now won't stand.

I know he's fighting it because he doesn't want to leave me.

I collected the sedatives and we are going in the morning after the morning surgery.

My heart is breaking. He's been my constant companion for nearly 12 years. We've travelled the world together. He's seen me through some really hard times and I love him dearly - but I know that just to let him fade away is not the kindest thing.

While I feel like an executioner - I know I'm doing the right thing for him. I really hope he slips away tonight - not because I want him to go but because I don't want to be the one to do it - but to see my naughty, handsome boy who always had a wicked gleam in his eye barely able to move is just too much.

It's happened so quickly, I am heartbroken.

Lisa I am so so sorry but you are doing the right thing for Arch. Its awful when you have to make the decision but I am afraid thats the responsibility we take on.

Oh Lisa my heart goes out to you, as awful a desicion as it is it is the right one for Arch. I know what you mean when you say you want him just to slip away, I remember being beside Polka the night before she died wishing she would just give up so she wouldn't suffer any more.
I'm in tears writing this, can't say any more, give Arch one final hug from me xxx

This is so sad to hear...Having just gone through this myself recently I feel for you. My Snoopy wouldn't move much anymore either and we knew it was time.
You're doing the right thing though...it will be the last act of kindness and love you can show your beloved companion. God bless..

My heart is breaking for you Sweetie.
You have done your best for Arch and he knows this, Harry will look after him at the Bridge but I know its the ones left behind that hurt.
I understand why you would like him to go peacefully tonight and in a way thats what I would want too.
I know its hard believe me and You and Arch will be in my thoughts.
I will light a candle in his name and hope for a peacfull and respectfull cross over to the bridge.
