Karleigh my angel. (Anderma Ciala).
Yesterday our Karleigh Bear joined the angels. I know she couldn't carry on in pain and indignity, but I can't stop crying. Karleigh was 10 years old on 20th february. She passed away on the brightest warmest spring day.
Karleigh came everywhere with us, from our wedding reception where she came on the dance floor until we had had our first dance and looked after a group of toddlers who she had never met before, and danced with balloons to going to miniature steam train events where, proud as punch she dressed in a high visibility jacket.
In all her days she never showed a bad side, not an snarl or a bite and I can count the items she chewed on one hand, you could even take a bone away with no fuss and she adored cats.
I hope you are out of pain now my angel.
Lots of love, mum and dad.

Sorry to hear your sad news, I know it might seem hard now it will get easier with time, just remeber the good times to help you through this difficult time.
My thoughts are with you both, I know what you are going through as I have sadly had to go through this many times with my beloved dogs and recently my mum and my husband.
Love Pam

Thanks Pam, Karleigh was our first GSD and my 18th and 19th birthday and christmas present. She was named after my Dad Karl who passed away just before we got her as a nine week old pup, she was five weeks when we chose her or my mum would say she chose us! Everywhere seems so empty, we live in a town have very little in the way of fences, but she never wandered off, she was always there. I haven't taken any time off work, but any time I have to be on my own I'm either in tears or close to it, so maybe I should have taken the week off. The cat is trying to act like a dog, everywhere I go from the bathroom, to the clothes line he is less than five feet away. Karleigh loved him even though he had only been here since the new year, she was quite upset when he went to the vet to get his claws trimmed and over the moon when he returned. Karleigh's breeder called the day after she went to say they had another litter due in April, but I'm not sure. I think maybe its a bit soon, although maybe it would help, I don't know. Thankyou again, I hope you are doing ok. If I can work out how to put a photo on here I will show you what she looked like.
Love and best wishes, Kirstie.

She may have only been with you ten years here on Earth, but she will be a big part of your heart forever.
I am so sorry for your loss.

Karleigh
So, so sorry to hear about Karleigh, like the others I too have been through this and it seems like the tears will never end. One day though you will be able to reflect back and think about her and smile and laugh and remember all the lovely times without too much sorrow. As they say here 'poco a poco '(little by little). As for the other little pup I'm sure you'll know when the time is right. Take care, thinking of you today. Gill

To all of you who sent there thoughts and best wishes I thank you all. Life continues and I think Karleigh would be pleased that she left such a legacy of love for a fantastic breed of loyal dog. So.......on wednesday we go to collect our new puppy. Aufraumen Bonnie (Flicka or Rosie we haven't quite decided on a name yet!) A distant cousin of Karleigh's. We have been to seen the pups every week for the last 3 weeks. So life goes on and forward we look. I will keep you posted about our new girl. I think Karleigh would be happy, and yes she is still here, I can't quite let her go as her ashes are still with us.
My best to you all, Kirstie.

Glad you have decide to get a new little one, although I know you are not replacing or forgetting your lovely Karliegh, you new one will help.
I know how you feel about the ashes Kirstie, in my previous house I had a few buried there and felt guilty leaving them when I moved I currently have 2 dogs Storm and Monty and also my husbands ashes in my bedroom, this time when I move house I can take them with me.
Love and best wishes Pam

When Karleigh's ashes came back Imust admit I was really impressed at the care taken. Her casket is lovely with an engraved plaque on the top. Although our previous cat Pepsi is in the garden I see what you mean about moving and leaving them. We have done so much work to this house and garden it would bother me that someone would disturb my darling if we moved.
Kirstie.
Ps. Flicka is coming home on Thursday, we chose her this evening, I will start a new thread when she gets here. Very sweet, totally different coat to Karleigh, she is short haired not rough coated. Chose Flicka as a name rather than Rosie so that sounds different too, but I know I'm going to get mixed up and call her Karleigh once or twice!!
