RIP

Have just joined the forum and was so sad for you at losing your wonderful Tess. I lost my girl at the age of 13 nearly eight years ago with CDRM and still have many a tear just thinking about her. I now have my beautiful Bonnie who is just great but has just been diagnosed with CDRM at the age of seven. Sat here crying just reading the messages and thinking about you in your time of pain.
Love Bonnie's Mum

Teula

Teula was a very special GSD and loved by so many people. Until joining this site I have not been able to talk about her, still can't without shedding a tear or two, but feel she should be mentioned on the Memory Corner.
She was my soul mate and was with me through some really bad times, never failing to notice when I was feeling down and would just sit by me, she was my reason for getting up and going out when I felt like curling up in bed, and when she could no longer cope with the CDRM I stayed with her talking to her and stroking her till she closed her eyes. She has left a huge hole in my life which hurts like hell. But I know we will be together again but for now she is runing free. Hopefully she is with my other GSD's Sonny Sheba Kharla and Collie cross Shepherd Moppet. May they all enjoy the meadows over Rainbow Bridge.
Run Free till we meet again.
Love you forever.
Mum

Overlook will become famous soon enough
We lost Nels to CDRM two years ago end of this month. We didn't have any massive signs to his problem - in fact was our clipper who brought it to our attention when she said that he had grumbled with the harness and they had had to muzzle him (very unusual) and he struggled to walk back to the car. That was April '07 and we took him to the vet. As he was insured x-rays and tests ensued. Was awful in a way as the specialist vet (who we were referred to) did suggest a little cart for him as an option, after an MRI but in our opinion it was too late as to us a cart just wasn't an option. Our house isn't a mansion, and the thought of him trolling about in a cart was just, well awful really.

So, we let him go and I can just see the little tinker being a little tinker at Rainbow Bridge - although as he was first and foremost's my mother-in-laws boy, and she passed before him so I hope he's now frolicking with her at some undetermined place which is just heaven for both of them

It doesn't matter how much time passes when you lose a beloved friend - the pain still takes your breath away just to remind you what a huge part of your life they were and always will be.

Julie, your words are so very true and as a family I hope we can reflect on those words as time goes by.

Thank you
