Tearing us apart

Well what a time to join a community site, thankfully it deals with the good, the bad and everything else I guess.

Up untill yesterday 20 July 2009 at 16.30 we had two fantastic members of the family, now we have one.

Brandy 06 October 1996 - 20 July 2009

Out of a litter of 9, Brandy at the age of 11 weeks chose us as a family and we are so blessed to have had her as a friend for 12 yrs and 9 mths untill yesterday.
For almost 18 months Brandy had been on vetmedin tablets to help with her heart although it was that awfull disease CDRM and hip/joint problems which finally caused us to make the terrible decision yesterday, we simply did not want her to suffer as there is no cure and the medication of anti inflamatory tablets/injections just wasn't helping towards the end.

I wanted to write so much about her and our 2 year old Keira but I am unable to stop the tears at present, enough to give a real insight of the love and privilage shared between us.

We decided as a family to have Brandy at home rather than a veterianry surgery for her final moments before the green stuff was released into her vein.
She has a plot in our garden which will provide a place for us to stand and talk and the plot will be ladden with roses and a memorial stone which has today been designed and ordered.

I feel so sick, so empty and numb.

h.bradshaw has a spectacular aura about
so very sorry to hear of the sad loss of your beautiful dog!

As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade.
I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.

I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful -- lush and green and wide!
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be!
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do.

I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night.
'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.

For although we may not be together in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.
