We had to let Bella go yesterday. She had been doing so well, considering she was 13 and showed the first signs of CDRM well over a year ago. She just went downhill so fast since thursday, I still cant believe it.
On friday we finally got to bury my mums ashes (she died in february, Bella was one of her two dogs that I took in) I can't believe we had to send Bella back to her so soon, and just a day after mum was buried?
Bella was fine in herself, eating like a horse, but her back legs were just completely useless.
She only went in her new cart a couple of times, we just never expected an overnight decline like she had, it was like someone flicked a switch.
What a horribly cruel disease CDRM is, it was gut wrenching having to phone the vet when she was so perky and normal in herself, and made me feel so guilty.
She had'nt lived here with us for long, but I'd know her since a pup, and am going to miss her sweet face and lovable character so very much.
This is a pic taken about an hour before the vet came.
Julie.
