TY
Hi all
Ty didn't make it and I'm devastated, he was put down at 9pm on Tuesday night.
If you saw my earlier thread you may know that he had seen the Vet on Monday night as he had been off his food for some time. The Vet said he probably had a tummy bug. However, Tuesday he got much worse and didn't eat a thing, he was lying flat out looking really really sorry for himself. Pete took him back to the Vet that night and they said his heart rate was erratic and kept him there for tests and scans etc. We got a phone call back later Tues pm to say that his kidneys had failed and there was nothing they could do. They don't know why his kidneys failed but think that it could be due to the major operation he had in Feb for twisted stomach which may've sent his body into shock. Apparently after the operation they also had to pump a massive amount of fluids into him to get him to come round so it could also have been that. Lastly it could just have been genetic. Whichever the cause it appears he had been living on borrowed time. He was only 5 years old its not fair.
I'm not coping too well and the slightest thing still sends me into floods of tears. The last few days at work have been awful but at least I wasn't in the house without him, it seems so empty.
Love him so much.
Sorry to depress you all. Please give your doggies a huge hug from me, time with them is so precious. I never thought his walk with me last Monday would be his last one and my last hug would be the last. I didn't go to say goodbye, we would have had to get a babysitter for my daughter at 9pm and he was suffering so much he needed to go. I don't regret that as he always got so upset when i cried he was a lovely sensitive dog and such a good friend.
Rest in peace Tysie.

I am so so sorry to hear about Ty.
My heart goes out to you all.
I know how you feel, and how empty your house and your lives will be now.
Please find comfort in the fact that Ty had a wonderful life with you, and you always did the right thing by him.
Thinking of you.
Run free Ty
xx

I am so sad for you. Fortunately this website seems to be the best place to receive totally support from like minded people. When I lost my girl I found myself hating the fact that I no longer had to stretch four foot over her to cook dinner!
I've given Diesel an additional hug for you. Again, I am so sad for you, they break your heart but, for me, the love I received from her and now Diesel is was worth it and I'm sure Ty gave you the same.
