This is My Beautiful Furr-Baby Cimba
She was PTS sleep 29 September 2007
She was my First GSD and my best friend in my life
I lost her to Leukaemia when she was 11 years old although she had AF and Arthirits

I only just feel ready to put these pics on as a Tribute to her

The Last Battle
An Ode to my Cimba
If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done,
For this -- the last battle -- can't be won.
You will be sad I understand,
But don't let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.
Take me to where to my needs they'll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree
It is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must be you
Who has to decide this thing to do;
We've been so close -- we two -- these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.
Here is another Poem for My Cimba
Those Amber Eyes
If only you could feel my pain;
You wouldn’t ask of me,
The things I am incapable of...
In this capacity.
Those amber eyes, so large,
Have looked at me for days;
As if to say, please help!
I’ve reached the end of my days.
They plead with you to end it all,
But they also know you are weak.
You put off the inevitable
The days ahead look bleak.
For without you here beside us,
Is too big a choice to bear.
An empty void now fills our hearts,
A space where you once were.
The hall door now opens,
Without greeting or sound
The fireside is empty
Bereft of you’re big hairy mound.
The trip to the vet was pure hell!
No pain could run so deep.
My mission unwanted!!!!!
To have you put to sleep.
Parting with you after eleven years,
Is hell and hell alone,
No one knows such devastation
Unless they have lost such a friend.
You could not help getting sick,
You battled on through life,
You had the biggest heart of all
You were our shining light.
Now we miss you everywhere we look
No eyes to shine upon us now,
No brown nose to rest on your foot,
No bundle of fur to stroke!
I am so sorry Cimba,
I know that it was me!
That let you go to spirit world
Where dogs and wolves run free.
That spirit came and took you
At the very end!
Now you roam with Cindy and Cindie,
Leaving your eternal friends
But we are always here for you,
We will meet again some day
Until that time comes!
Be a good dog for your Mum.
