Xenos is on a distinguished road
Thanks Lynn! He has those ears haha, but we love him to bits!

I've kept in contact with two parents of his littermates - and both of their dogs have really bushy tails. People often ask me if Xenos is a doberman mix because of his tail and long face. I'm baffled. Has anyone here used those DNA kits to confirm purebred lineage?

Thanks everyone! You all posted before I spotted them, didn't mean to single out lynn there!

His mother had those ears and he was the only one that looked like her, so no one wanted to buy him. She had very thin legs, but I chalked it down to the breeder giving her dry cat kibble - yes, cat food. When I asked for a small bag of the food she was feeding Xenos, to mix in with another formula we planned to give him - she huffed and went in and got a tiny sample. It was generic dry cat food!!!! She couldn't look at me in the eye and knew I was going to give a lecture.

To make matters worse, she put the puppies in her son's name to sell them off - he was only 14! When I asked her why, she laughed and said, "it's a trick we use to avoid paying taxes on the sales." Super shady...

Tedsmum will become famous soon enough
Hi I think Xnes of very handsome.
I would suggest that his tail is thin because he has a very close and short coat all over. I think it is in keeping with the rest of him ,he would not suit a big bushy tail. Besides, my dog's tail holds about 8 pints of water on its own and he can clear a table with one swipe. It might be something to be grateful for?

Haha!! Yes, it is something to be grateful for indeed!

I just spoke to the trainer we're using for him and asked about the tail. He said Xenos looks like a mix between a Belgium and German line. He pointed out that Belgium lines are a lot taller (like Xenos) and have thinner legs until they fully fill out at around age three. But we all know how it is - everyone has an opinion on what line looks like what, even down to the sloped back/working lines/show lines. I think I will get the DNA test online and solve this little mystery.

PS I cannot tell you all how absolutely lovely your pups are! A great lot!
