Help Needed Please

We are going to be fostering a puppy as from this evening and having only ever had rescue dogs for the last few years (havent had a puppy for 13 years) i need some advice.

Basically one of my boyfriend's work colleagues decided that it would be sensible 4 months after giving birth to get 2 male puppes from the same litter. It turns out that her new baby daughter doesnt like dogs (!) so they are getting rid of them and they need to go tonight so I have agreed to foster the nervous one of the two to help build its confidence before finding a permanent home.

It is due to have its 2nd lot of injections on thursday and I know this means that i cant take it for a walk outside until then but does this also mean it cant get near my other 2 dogs or go out in the garden?

I plan to take it to work with me to help socialise it, and so that my two dogs can have the house to themselves for a bit as i plan to keep them seperate from the puppy, but am i able to introduce them and have them all together at any point (with supervision).

Give me a nervous or even agressive dog anyday, but a little ball of fluff makes me worry so any puppy advice is greatly appreciated!!

It's so exciting though

Sorry no idea.. I've only had rescues not young pups. What breeds are they?

You'll cope fine I'm sure if you've experience with rescues. What a nice thing you're doing.

And piccies please !!

Thanks Beki, I had a feeling that was the case. I intend to keep them appart for a few days anyway because i think it will be stressful enough for the poor pup without my 2 big things overwhelming him.

Anni my 2 are GSDs and the pup is a Brittany Spaniel.

Tedsmum will become famous soon enough
Definately safe to mix with your two dogs and in your garden as long as your dogs have been vaccinated.
Best of luck with it and well done for helping out.
Would love to see a photo when you can x

Yep I have to agree as long as yours are up to date then the pup will be just fine. I have to say your friend is very lucky to have you on hand to help out, good on ya!

I only hope both pups find a good home, why do people see dogs as something that can be handed on when it no longer suits their lifestyle??

I completely agree with this LOVEGSD, i was so fuming yesterday that as i predicted 3 weeks ago, when she got the pups that they would be need to be rehomed before the month was out!! He's quite a shy boy, who has some seperation issues which i am trying to combat before he gets a new home, but he is lovely and i dont understand how there are people like that.

I can only do my best for this little pup, and hope that someone lovely is willing to stump up the £300 they want for him.

I admire you for taking him on, thank god you'll be able to help him with his shyness, poor chap.

As for them wanting money for him that just says it all surely a good home for free is better than the money?? How do you bite your tongue with these people hun, you must just wanna tell them what you really think

I didnt really say much when we went to pick him up yesterday, let my OH do the talking so i wouldnt say something i would regret.

I am also hoping that they will let me homecheck any potential owners for him, as the last thing i need is to be asked to do a dog assessment for rehoming a Brittany Spaniel by a local rescue in a couple of months time.

But what can you do?!
