Bad Day.
On Monday I was having a really bad day, grief from my Dad big time, on children duty, work piling up in the office(I work at home) first puppy class meeting and I was so nervous about it, and God I am so knackered all the time. You get the picture I just felt so angry at life. Mishka bless thought it was a good day to totally go back on house training and peed everywhere and played up all day.
Then Tuesday arrived and I was back to my normal chilled self and to hell with the world! Mishka remembered that we do our pee's in the garden and was a total sweetheart all day.And today same attitude same good girl Mishka!
I know this sounds really stupid but did my mood rub of on her? Was my whole grumpy thing effecting how she behaved. I know really she can't possibly understand Mummy's in a bad mood therfore I will wind her up even more, surly she isn't that smart (or concidering my mood that dumb)
Sorry I know I always ask daft questions but hey.

No question is ever daft so just ask away
GSD's are very sensitive so maybe she did pick up on your mood but equally puppies do have backward steps with things so it may have just been a coincidence.
I hope today & the rest of the week are good days.

Dogs can pick up on your moods very quickly, if I am having a bad day, my two baby boys stick with me like glue! Maybe Mishka sensed that you were upset and it upset her too, hence the reversal in toilet training.

I think it's a bit of each. She would very easily pick up on mood/tension in the house, and pups often regress with housetraining.
At least she's back to normal now!!

Older dogs regress too, in terms of being norty, playing you up etc.
Some days you think, is it me?

I really do think that our moods can be read very easily by them,..remember they dont use there voice as much as we do to communicate between themselves,.. they use their body language,.. so they can read us very easily

We do own a very sensitive breed. Diesel is so in tune with me that when my back's bad, he'll wake me up (I must be moaning in pain in my sleep) with nuzzles to my face, then he'll flop down by my side of the bed and stay there all night where as normally he'll sleep in the front room....GSD's are just fab!!

So true. As the saying goes... If it's not a GSD it's just a dog. It's new for me having two sheps as their personalities are very different. Remus likes cuddles whereas Zee likes to kiss you.
The other day I sat down on their beds with them and Remus decided to groom my hair by doing that nibbling with their front teeth thing. What a weird sensation - it was like having your hair combed, so very gentle.
