does your GSD live/sleep inside or outside?

hi all, things are going well with Reuben, biting has practically ended and we're good to go for short walks (20mins) with him (he's knackered!)

i'm looking at some of the photos of older pups and in no time Reben is going to be big big!! so he's inside at the mo, in his crate, out around the kitchen then out for his walks or play in the garden.
i'm wondering when would be the approprtiate age to introduce the idea of sleeping outside or being outside, predominantly during the day. i have a kennel for outside .

i would like him to sleep indoors at the bottom of the stairs eventually - thats probably awhile away yet? !!

i dont think i'll be having reuben by the fireside as i know some of you do, much as i think its cute it might not be for us. he will be outdoors mostly but what age would this transistion happen?

TIA

wildmoor has disabled reputation
My Chodsky Pes have lived outside since birth first in Czech, then in Germany since they were 11 1/2 month in the UK
This is their kennel/run

In the bed area on the floor they have a stable mat with half a bale of straw on top.

both of mine sleep indoors, Jet has done so since we had her at 8 weeks and Scooby has for the last couple of weeks since being with us, he spent most of his life outside though with his previous owners

sasha has her bed in the living room........along with the sofas but anyway if its warm we often leave living room door open so she can sleep in hallway at front door (not good when postman sticks his hand in) or at bottom of stairs. There is a safety gate at top of stairs and she'll often sleep at top of stairs...or sit peering into our bedroom, kinda freaky to be honest at 4am!

Tedsmum will become famous soon enough
Ted sleeps inside where ever he wants, usually starts by my bed and ends up spread eagled in the hall way. He is a very thick coated dog and likes to be outside in the cold but can't stand to be away from me. So unless I start sleeping in the garden he will probably stay inside. He likes to spend time outside during the day but for all that his priority is to be with his humans, no matter where they are. x

Ozzie is in a crate in the kitchen. He loves his creature comforts! But our last gsd was an outside dog. She started of in the house, and we had a dog flap on the door. By six months old she would go out and stay out all night of her own accord. She would even stay out in the rain! We bought her a kennel in the end and she moved out permanently. She would often come in the house and check where everyone was and then go back out again. She just hated being in the house, and she was a short coat too.

Oka sleeps in her crate in the living room at night, and generally anywhere in the living room or kitchen at other times (unless i have to go out then she gets moved to the crate).

She likes to spend time outside, and will go out in the rain unless it's really heavy. She always comes back to sleep near one of us though.

Same with us to..........If i left Sam out he would cry all night, besides he even sleeps like a human lol.. On his own bed of course, or on the landing, or by the fire, or bottom of stairs on tiled floor, or anyhwere he wants.
