question re daily food quantity in grams for pup

hello everyone
reuben is on royal canin, and if ever there was a confusing packaging re instructions as to what amount for age they have it.
he is 15 wks and 13 kilos.
Royal canin has this weird thing accross their chart that says adult weight
25/30/35 and then running vertically age of the pup- heres the link
German Shepherd Puppy - Junior Dog Food | Royal Canin

then on the eukanba site we're feeding him too much!
at the mo he gets 275grammes in his kongs throughout the day.

unfortunately he has started to eat his own poo - hubbie went beserk this evening when he caught reuben at it. so whats up? is he bored or starving?

as husband says he has more toys than symths toy shop!

Caryll is a jewel in the rough
I can't help much, I'm afraid cause I feed raw. Also, I've never gone much on the recommended amounts on the dog food packs, anyway. I feed enough so that my dogs finish their food within 5 minutes maximum. After that, the food's picked up (any that's left, which is rare!). If I think they're putting on too much weight I cut down, if I think they're losing weight, I increase.

When it says adult weight on the pack, it is the predicted adult weight. If you say he will be say 40Kg when fully grown, according to the chart he should be on about 400g of food per day split into however many feeds you give him. If you are only giving him 275g I would say this is not enough and may be part of the reason he is eating poo. Up his food, and try and clean up any poo as soon as it is done so it doesn't become habit. You can as Caryll says adjust the food up or down as it suits, as the chart is only a rough guide.

According to their site yes, 15 months he could go onto their adult recipe.

feeding amounts

We have been keeping to the Royal Canin chart - approximately, but we did start giving her a little extra as we felt she was looking/feeling on the thin side. Now the vet has suggested she is too lean so we have upped it again. She is 20 weeks, 20 Kg but she is tall and still looks a bit thin. As the vet says and most experts on here, the important thing is how your dog looks and feels. Kenzi is now on 500 gms a day, 3 feeds, which is much more than amounts on the RC charts. She does seem to be doing better on it and her poos are very regular and firm

Hi all , my 2 are on rc , Mowgli is 14 months now , he is so big and active I thought i would keep him on the junior longer than the rec 15 months , any views on this ? my reasoning is it has all the added vits and mins etc for growing pups and I thought it would do him good , if anyone thinks thats a rubbish idea could u let me know , thanks ...as for quantities I go by what he looks like and how hungry he is to an extent , as I say he is a big lad and at work with me all day outside and my main problem was that he wasnt eating hardly anything and always looked lean , so now I go on instinct Im still feeding twice a day and prob always will and he is having 3 mugs in each feed I then add either a drop of milk , some gravy or sometimes a tin of sardines just to keep his interest , he is 14months 29 inches and weighs about 40kg , he is shiny and healthy and you can easily feel his ribs but I wouldnt say he was underweight , the old girl eats whatever i put in front of her ...bless !!
