with our border terrier we carried it on for a year.
after that we chose to save the money instead of paying the premium.Borders are known for being very good in this department and he is 8 now and only ever needed the vet when a wasp stung him.
we are about to collect a gsd and will definately take out the insurance for another year.after that not sure,we may continue with this one.probably due to their history of problems-we will just have to see.
i would be grateful for some experienced input on this one too.

Personally I think pet plan are very expensive for the level of cover they offer. I am with Animal Friend Insurance at the moment, but I have heard that Sainsbury do a very good deal, so may switch to them when it is up for renewal. There are so many different companies offering pet insurance now, you just have to shop around a bit. I have 5 dogs in total, and I must admit, I do not insure the terriers. Even the 14 year old has only ever been to the vet for jabs and the snip.

I too am covered with Animal Friends Insurance, i have my cats covered by them also. I get discount for mulitple pets and it is lifetime cover.
When we had our boxer whom are prone to lumps/cancer we had to make multiple claims to get lumps removed and toe amuptation due to cancer etc and the service with them was fab. Can't fault them

Nice to hear someone who has experience with them, I did wonder how good they would be at paying out etc!
