what size ought I buy for bringing puppy home?

I am planning to get a tan leather studded one but might start with a soft nylon one to collect.

Buut I have no idea what size is a 8week old gsd's neck?? Lol

I think any `pupy` collar will adjust enough to fit most pups,.. you just have to remember to check the gap very regular, its always suprising just how fast they grow and fill the collar.

I would get the softest flat collar you can buy for now the pup needs to get used to it, and you may have to go through a few before settle for your prefered collar later on

I would get a soft collar to start with. I wouldn't worry about paying a lot of money on a collar just yet as they grow so fast you will probably be needing a new one in a month or two!

I always buy the widest padded adjustable one, narrow ones tend to cut into their little neck till they learn not drag you along on a walk

I wasn't planning on spending alot on a collar.... even when she is big enough for a proper one... I have lost count how many excuses I have come up with for needing to buy my pair a new collar! Lol

I always buy the widest I can find too... I bought my boy a lovely leather collar and had to get my OH to take it to work and use the leather punch to make a couple of extra holes in because it was so big, but the smaller was not so wide.

I don't really like those little flimsy narrow puppy collars I think I might look for a nice comfy adjustable one that has plenty of room to grow.

Also I am hoping that in the time it takes for puppy to be fully vacinated I will have walking on the lead well underway as I will be spending a LOT of time on that at home and in the garden.

Shrap has a spectacular aura about
What about an adult collar for a small breed? There's a cool camouflage one I want that's cheap but looks comfy, you can get it in S/M/L. Do you think that would do? GSD pups are so big i'd almost think the small would be too small :P
