I'm sure there will be a difference of opinion about this



but for me, as much as I might think it's endearing, there's NO WAY my bubbas are allowed to bark/growl/anything at us.
They're not allowed to growl at each other, unless it's during supervised play.
They 'speak' to us, but that's little 'contented' snuggly noises, but definitely no barking/growling, unless we invite them to play ( unfortunately they play really loud + rough



)
For me, the behaviour you describe is 'hello, come into my kitchen/lounge/whatever, today you 2 are going to do what I say'
