Your honest opinions please

Hi all
I have posted some pics of my little pup but we have a "little" problem Everyone that looks at her says she is lovely but small So much so that we are now concerned about her future size
Last Friday we went to the vets for first vacs but they postponed until today so she could get bigger (last week 2.45kg this week 2.95kg) All ok today
She will be 9 wks this coming Monday
I got her on New Yrs eve but could only see Dad as Mum had been taken away (she was having problems with the pups) Mum was 30kgs before she got pregnant & Dad was around 40kg Breeder owned both parents
The size issue is starting to concern us She has been checked by two vets who say she is medically fine so no concerns there
We have started training/grooming etc & all seems ok
Would really like some opinions etc re her potential or whether we have got ourselves a problem
Thanks

Have you got any pics you can post up so we can all have a look?

I don't think I'd be too worried about size at that age, all dogs grown at different rates and as long as she's healthy then don't worry....xxx

Where had Mum been taken to? Why couldn't you see her?

Are the dogs/pups KC Registered?

The pups should have been away from mum once they were weaned, but you should still have been able to see her.

Hi Kita
We were told that Mum had been taken away early as she was nipping at the pups & had a bad tum The breeder intended that she have this fist litter then started life as a working dog so she was with removed earlier than planned due to her having a few problems
Dad is pedigree but Mum wasn't, however, the breeder is KC registered Have no reasons to doubt what we have been told as I have checked the breeder out several ways & all seems above board Just have a concern now as second comment about Sheba has to date always been she is small She was also from a litter of fourteen

Ok just had a look and she is a small one but then a litter for 14 is quite large so maybe she wasn't one of the strongest and got pushed to the back of the feeding queue.....I would still be happy though that the vets have given her a thumbs up and she's healthy, maybe she's a slow grower??

memoirs of a shepherd will become famous soon enough
She is lovely. As long as her health is fine and she is eating and drinking normally I wouldn't worry.
She will grow in her own time, just love and care for her along the way.
As with people, animals are all shapes and sizes and as long as she has no adverse health implications who cares what size she may grow to.
Our daughters GSD Logan is 14 months old now and he is a monster, he dwarfs Keira however, she is definately top dog there.
My hubby always says, size only matters in the porn industry, hmmm !
Keep us posted.

Regards

Jo & Bernie

Thanks for replies
If you consider that she has gained 20% of her bodyweight in one week she is not doing bad. I am feeding in excess of what the food guide on the packet shows (feeding 4 times a day) & the way she eats I could probably increase quantity further ? Currently feeding Purina Beta but have just bought the large breed puppy food for her
