Grooming Sheba

Hi all

Sheba is now 10 weeks & although I have been trying to regularly brush her it is getting harder. I have a few questions;

Any tips to get her to keep still ?? I am holding a treat in one hand & brushing with the other

I am using a wooden brush as the wire one seems to hurt her. It is still removing hair though. Is this the right type of brush for such a puppy ?

Thanks

Beki is a jewel in the rough
you can teach the "stand" command at her age she is bound to be wiggly! but work on sit/stand and stay command and she will soon get the idea! I had a 1yr old westie last week and my arms where scratched to bits!! lol

if your using a slicker brush be gently and light touch with it

well with ellie when she was sat i would make her stand up and say "stand" usually a touch under her belly encourages her to stand

I would also teach the stand command using the mthod Beki has suggested
I would use a natural horsehair brush on a puppy available from John Humpris
when older I would suggest a rake comb finished off with the horsehair brush

LOVEGSD is just really niceLOVEGSD is just really nice
I let Diesel stand with his front legs on my large window sill so he can look out the window as I groom him, I can then stand behind him and get a good brush the full length of his body....
