Keeping her awake all evening

Am i being cruel?

Lexi was up crying most of the night last night, so when i got up this morning she just wanted to sleep because i were there. Shes pretty tired now been trying to go to sleep, but im keeping her up sticking her tug rope and ball in her nose lol and keep getting her to have a quick walk around, can tell she really just wants to sleep. But if i keep her up now, she should sleep better when i go and get in bed right?

Caryll is a jewel in the rough
To be honest, I think the only thing that will really settle her will be for you to ignore the crying at night. After three or four nights she'll start to accept that you're not there, but that she's safe, warm & comfortable & she'll settle much better.

If you tire her out, she'll go to sleep, but she'll still wake up & want you with her.

She's learning that if she cries you will come for her, I would agree with Caryll on this one you need to ignore her...x

Definitely put her in at night around 11pm and ignore her otherwise if you let her out when she crys she will cotton on to it and play on the fact.

Although we were lucky enough to have only the first night crying we ignored it and she has been fine since.

Even during the day if she is in her crate we don't get her out until she has calmed down and stopped crying.

Hi Mike
As above. Sheba now goes in her crate at about 10 at night & I let her out at 6'ish. First couple of nights she cried to go loo at around 4 - 5. Let her out then straight back in. This soon stopped & she has been great since.
Daytime when in her crate she not only has to be quiet but I make her sit before I open the crate.
If I were you I would let her go toilet then put her in the crate when you want to go to bed & then leave for as long as you can. You might be surprised !
