Ruf n tuf bed

Hi all
We bought Sheba a ruf n tuff bed from Pets at Home on Sunday & when we got home this afternoon she had chewed a hole in it !! She has a crate with a metal tray so we wanted something to make it more comfortable. Do your dogs sleep on a bed or bare floor ? Those that use a bed any ideas to stop her chewing holes in it ?

Jazmin chewed all her blankets, the only thing she never chewed was a blanket called 'vet bed'it's like a fleece ,they use then at the vets,so the dogs are warm and comfortable, not too expensive, and you can buy off the roll from E-bay.Hope that helps.

GV9297 is just really niceGV9297 is just really nice
Diesel ripped and chewed all his beds I gave him until I got him his large plastic (kidney shaped) bed with a couple of new fleeces in it and he loves it - sleeps in it all the time doesn't chew or rip fleeces.

He has made a nice pattern on the dge of the bed with chew marks - just to make it his ! lol!

No point getting nice beds for pups - wait til their past the chew stage. Zee even chewed vet bedding. She sleeps on a folded up duvet in a waterproof cover and so far hasn't chewed that... She chewed the wall next to it instead!

Definately agree with this, at the moment we have fell lucky with Xen and his vet bedding The only thing that does worry me, with vet bedding, when chewed fluff comes off it, and obviously not good if puppies do chew/swallow it I guess.

Bonniesmummy is a jewel in the rough
I have been very lucky with Bonnie... She hasn't ever chewed her bed or much if anything else for that matter except her toys

Wish you luck though a d also wouldn't buy anything expensive till they learn or outgrow this behaviour xxx

We bought some rubber-backed vet bedding as we've wooden floors - she started off plucking it off the backing, and then chomped a ruddy big hole in the middle. She ate weird things though, like wool and car sponges

Diva's got a crate with a metal tray too and 2 identical fleecy blankets we alternate, so far she has chewed one but not the other Anyway most of the time she just crumpled it into a heap on one side of the crate and sleeps on the metal bit with half her head on the crumpled blankie...Weird dog
