Walks with family

Hi all Saba is 15 weeks old now and doing fine exept few little things...so when we go for walk together(me,husband and boy who is almost3) we can't separate, when she's on lead and little one wants to have a run or go to play area she starts pulling and if I won't let her go makes lots of noise, when off lead she chases him and nips,we think it's her trying to herd but it's quite annoying, any tips?and as soon as we get laptop back i will post some pick-have no clue how to do it using phone...

Ha this is a common GSD thing, I don't have any kids but when we walk with my friend and their little girl Diesel will whine and pull to get us all walking together.

I just used to go back to basics with the change direction thing so the more he pulled and whined the more I would end up going in the opposite direction, this seemed to work as he was so desperate to be with everyone. I then praised and rewarded him for calm behaviour.

As for the chasing and nipping I would have her on a long line so you can stop this happening. I would be teaching the leave command so you can get her to stop doing this.

sami is a jewel in the rough
Everything Lynn says is spot on and yet it is a common gsd thing. Max used to run in circles around us trying to "round us up" Sami just screamed the place down til we all got back together.

They do tend to grow out of it a little as they grow up and get more confident.
