omG, its STARTED!!!
ok, so rugs is coming up to 9 months old now, and to be honest i figured the whole 'teenage stage' thing was a MYTH...
but noooooooooo, i think Rogue (the little DARLING) has just about hit it!
We were out the back this evening, nice sunny.... Cait was playing on her scooter, we were drinking wine and Rugs was pottering about as usual...
Enter my next door neighbour.
Now, Rogue has always been excited to meet new people, and my neighbour is not new, but she hasn't seen much of her lately... cue lots of whining, jumping up and general tail wagging, face licking sloppyness.
USUALLY, my lovely, well behaved dog will come back to heel, sit down and receive fusses the aceptable, 'good dog' kinda way.
Did she?
noooooooooooooooooo!!
She continued to smother my next door neighbour in kisses while i was telling her 'come' ......... 'Coooooooome'..... 'ROGUE! HERE!' no response what so ever.
My neighbour was relieved of her mauling by the presence of my cat, who sauntered out of the back door only to be chased across the car park!!! Again, to futile shouts to get her back! Even Mike tried, and when he does she KNOWS she's in trouble!!
So she decides to dive into my other neighbours house, scare the SH!T out her 2year old who loves Rogue to bits but has never been accosted by her out of nowhere before! Cue lots of screaming from the child and a lollipop or few from a very guilty, trying VERY hard to keep calm, me.
She refuses to eat her food unless we break an egg over it, or top it up with sardines.... she's chewing EVERYTHING she can get her chops around (i REALLY thought she had grown out of that!) and she seems to have forgotten the most basic of commands unless i have a treat in hand!!
ooohhhh, please tell me this isn't going to last long??? She's make a very handsome hearth rug otherwise................

Welcome to the real world. It does get better honest, but I forgot how old. Jazmin is 80% good loving girl 20% minx and defiant. Good luck. What would we do without them?

ooohhh dear.
lol, don't get me wrong i love her to BITS, i guess i thought i had it made with her she just seemed soooo good!
Is it worth putting her into classes (we never did the first time around as she had the basics from the start)
or is she just going to embarrass me even further?!

I had to do training / behavourist with Diesel as he was a rescue and I dont think had a proper puppy stage and we know he never had any socialisation so perhaps he is just a late starter lol!
I am sure training wont do any harm but research them first and perhaps go along first without your dog and see what they do just to see if you like their methods and ask some questions. x x
I am sure Rogue will be just fine but I would get used to being embarrased x

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, my last girlie grew out of her "teenage" phase age about 7.5 YEARS!!!!! And she started at 6 months!!! I do think that she was an exception rather than the rule though! Ozzie has been relatively good in all fairness. Go back to basics with her, she will come good in the end!!
