2 more weeks, how will I do it?

Hi everyone,

My 12 week old puppy Rio has her 2nd set of jabs next week and then we have to wait another week before we can take her out. She's sooooo full of energy and I'm not sure how I'm going to cope with having to keep her in and entertained for 2 more weeks! Help please, she's driving me nuts bless her!! Xx

I know it seems like ages and it is frustrating but it is a time when you can start to teach her some basic obedience. Depending on what you have already done, you could get her sit, down and come commands really nicely going. Add that to several 5-10 minute playing sessions afterwards.
In the week after his final jab I took my pup just up and down our cul de sac to get him used to the lead. I also worked on his recall, using treats to encourage him back.
These are all things that you will be glad of when he is out in the big wide world.
It's all part of the wonderful experience and privialedge of owning a GSD!

I know how you feel having just gone through this myself.
I did walks around the flat with the walk and sit commands, invaluable outside!!!
Sit tight, it'll fly by xxx

Ok well the links you have been given are good to start with but you really have to do some reading. Get yourself some books on obedience or tricks to train you dog and research GSD's generally. This will all help you to understand you pup as he matures.
Also spend this time researching where you can take him to puppy classes locally. These will give you good basic instructions about how to handle him and prepare him for things in the future (if it is a good one of course).
I don't know where you are but this is the puppy school we attended at it was brilliant. They have sessions all over the country I believe.
Puppy training classes, Puppy School is a network of UK schools for training young puppies.

You will be so busy once he is going so spend this time in finding out what you need to know.
