How long should we walk?

Hello, now I can take out my 14 week old puppy, how long should her walks be? I don't want to exhaust her but I don't want her to be 'underwalked' either! (is there such a word?)

I must be honest and say there's soooooo much to learn about when you have your first ever puppy! I must say that im a little confused, anxious and happy at the same time! :-/

hi,we`re trying to take Saba for 3 walks-2 on a bad day...so in the morning 10min around the block, early afternoon long one mostly of the lead-we take water for her as we are out for 40min plus time in a car and late in the evening 20min again around the block and she runs a lot in the garden with little one
I think the rule is 5min for every month of age and not too much on a lead as free running is important for muscle development and not feeding before or after
hope I got it right we are still learning as well

I would say no more than 20 mins lead walking, but as much free running on grass as you like x

I agree with Tracey, free running is great but not too hard on lead walking.

Also agree with that 'rule'. We stuck to the 5mn per month of age on lead with Diva when she was a younger pup and as much free running as she wanted, she usually flopped for a rest when she was tired anyway so that was our cue to stop Oh and remember avoid letting your pup go up/ down stairs too much as it can put a lot of strain on the joints...Good luck and enjoy the walks!
