Harley still squats and he is 19 months.

He will occasionally cock his leg when out on walks, but he starts squatting, then just lifts it a little lol.

My theory is that dogs that cock their legs before castration will always cock their legs , if done after castration they will not.
I believe dogs cock purely to scent mark and its not to have a wee as such.
Dogs will always squat to have a wee.
Troy cocked his leg at 6 months before being castrated at 12 months so he still cocks, Kaiser cocked his leg at 9 months and still does he's not been castrated, Troy and Kiser are both 2 years old.

Zandis first attempt was at 16wks then nothing for a further 6 months - now depends whether he is marking over another dogs scent or he just wants a pee he squats if he does one of his marathon pees which can last for 5mins - he only pees 3x a day, if hes marking he cocks his leg but in the garden he has no reason to mark no other males
