Pups at 4 weeks

We have been to see pups today and they were quite dark, with a hint of tan coming through but still quite dark, will they lighten or will they stay quite dark.

Most GSD pups will continue to lighten up to about the age of two years,..to a more or lesser degree,.. but is not a fact that all will

This was Sam between the ages of about 11 months and two years

sams mum is a name known to allsams mum is a name known to all
sam was so dark when we went to see him even at 8 weeks.only seemed to have a touch of gold on his face and chest.rest of him black.. a week later when we went to get him i couldnt believe how much lighter he had got.. now he is 11 weeks and even lighter. becoming a beautiful colour....
see my post. i dont mean to bore you but.. and you can see how light he is now...

Thank you all, we are going back next week to see them again, would anyone advise long or short coat??

Long or short coat is just personal preference,... in my view long haired dogs are a lot harder to groom, and I also think that shorter haired dogs deal with the cold better than long haired,..their coat is a lot more dense
