Hi & welcome!

They all learn at different speeds, and your pup (what's his name?) is still very much a baby! They all have very poor bladder & bowel control at that age, I'm afraid, but some gain control sooner than others.

I'd take up the water about an hour before his last toilet break, and no food after about 5 or 6pm. (What do you feed him, by the way?) Any chance that someone could get up briefly at around 4am to give him a little break?

Give him a little more time & patience & I'm sure he'll get there.

I believe that pups should always have access to clean fresh water 24/7 - the pup will learn to regulate its intake, I presume you are still feeding 3xs a day, if so feed am 2nd feed about 4pm then give the last meal as late as possible 11-12pm, if you are taking pup out at midnight then the pup should be okay untill 6am ish if you feed this way

I would agree with this, especially if you feed dry/complete food.

Plus if you start taking the water up you stand the chance of the dog drinking more when it does have access and it then becomes an issue.

I am sure you are, but remember that dogs will often go to the toilet where they can smell their last `accident`,..so use a strong cleaning agent to remove all smell, at the moment, he doesnt know he is doing wrong, so please dont punish, he doesnt seem to know any different yet.

Its a long time since I had a pup, but I know that it can take time,.. maybe the use of a crate would help, dogs dont usualy mess where they sleep, so a crate at night may help.

I was going to suggest a crate - not that I am in any way an expert as it's been years since I had a dog - but this is what I am planning to do at night time when I get my pup. People I know that have used them have said that toilet training has been quicker with a crate because they don't like making a mess in their sleeping area.
