Hello to everyone...
Hi everyone , my name is Karen and I am the proud new companion to a female GSD named Eve. She will be 9 weeks old on Thursday and is a joy to have in the house. I did forget though having a new puppy is not disimiliar to having a new baby lol. There are 6 humans in the house Me , My husband Dougie and my four children Cherilyn 18 , Douglas 16 , Leonie 11 and George 10. There are also 4 cats and now of course Little Eve. I owned a Golden Lab many years ago but decided to wait untill the kids were grown a bit before having another dog come to stay with us.I have never owned a GSD before and i must say I am astounded at how intelligent she is even at her young age. I have already got her to sit on command and we are working at "paw" and "stay is coming on a treat. Toilet training is not too bad although we are still having some wee accidents, thank god for laminate floors lol.Any tips that you can give me along the way would be great, and nice to be here.xx

Hiya and welcome
Would love to know more about your pup, where did she come from, what lines she is, what you hope to do with her and of course, LOADS of pics
It is lovely to hear how pleased you are with your little girl. She sounds a real cracker.

Hi and welcome! We would of course love to see pics of your new baby. Do you have insurance for her? I would be considering lifetime insurance.
Tips wise all I would say is make sure you have her on a high quality dry food such a wainwrights salmon and potato, or fish4dogs, orijen, taste of the wild etc.
If you don't already use a clicker then invest in one, they make training much quicker and my boy gets excited when I bring the clicker out
I do hope the breeder carefully thought through letting you bring a puppy home before christmas with 4 children in the house, such a stressful time. Are the parents from a full line of hip scored stock? And are the elbow scored themselves with good grades? Also hope you made sure there aren't any known epilepsy producers in the lines....
Again, welcome to the forum and if you need a hand uploading pics (hint) give somebody a shout!

I have only had her since Xmas Eve (hence the name) and please don't worry we are a quiet family so don't think she was too stressed. I am currently feeding her on Wainrights complete and also their tinned food, a little of the two mixed together as this is what the breeder had her on. Don't have her insured yet but that is at the top of my to do list after her first Vet visit on Friday. Would love to show you some pics but not sure how to do it lol.

Hi Karen, welcome to the forum, we look forward to following Eve as she grows up
Tip,.. the tip I am suggesting is, if you only ever teach two commands then let it be `Leave`,.. the most important command any dog can ever learn,.. with leave, you can control her with others dogs, stop her eating poison [ or sheep poo ],.. and possibly save her life,........ follow that command with `down`... here you completly control her movements, stop her running into the road for instance,...between those two, you have control,.. all the others are bonuses

Welcome to the forum! I hope Eve is settling in nicely. Can't wait to see some pics of your baby girl!
My tip - socialise, socialse and more socialsing! Take her to the supermarket and let her see people and cars and take her to the park to meet friendly dogs. It's a lot of work but will be very much worth taking the time to do as much as you can.

Hello and welcome to the forum!
As said previously photos are a must, the easiest way if your uploading from your computer: where you post a response there is an attachment button in the shape of a paperclip i believe, once you click that you can select and upload your photo into the message box.
Looking forward to seeing your pup, only tip i can think of is............stay calm, be consistent and enjoy! xx
