Hello and welcome!!

Jackson was the same too.... the problem I faced is that he goes off to my parents house during the day. Whilst I tried to agree what we would do with the pair of them if Jackson was bitey or jumping up etc etc... My Dad basically didn't do it...

Take for example the other day, I have always given strick instructions to not feed him human food (unless its leftovers in his food bowl) I caught my dad giving him mini chedders, and not even making him earn them... so now the little so-and-so will try it on with me for food.

Consistancy is key... and remember you have the teenager bit to come!

Hello and welcome

I would offer her a toy to bite instead, re-direct the behaviour because biting is important for puppies but obviously she needs to learn that putting teeth on skin is unacceptable.

If the time out is working then stick with this so if the biting starts give her a toy, if she carries on remove her, you need to be consistant otherwise she will never learn. You need to remain calm and encourage all members of the household to do the same, it can become confusing if everyone is doing something different.

Hi and welcome,

My two needed different tactics when they were little nippers.....Zeus would stop as soon as I yelped, he was an angel to train.

Maisy was like a little tasmanian devil when over excited.... she growled, snapped, snarled and bit us. She fetched blood on a few occasions, yelping made her get even more excited, scruffing didn't help either.

I was starting to get concerned with her behaviour at one point, it was if a red mist descended on her and once she was "in one" there was no getting through to her. She snapped at my hand when I was trying to stop her from biting Zeus' ear once, so I pinned her and that made her worse too.

After that I removed my hands and attention when she was biting and if she got into a temper, I put her out of the room for a few minutes to calm down.
It took a while but things did start to improve, she's still a handful but is only 7 1/2 months old.

She was also a bugger for grabbing ankles and trousers, I found standing still till she got bored to be the best cure for that behaviour.

She rarely bites us now...I allow her to mouth my hand gently when she's having a fuss. The only time she gets into a grump now is if she's disturbed when she's tired. My O.H is a pain for stroking and fussing round her if she's lying on the sofa beside him, he knows she will react by growling at him and still has an occasional snap at him, he thinks its funny but I don't!
Any training I do with her in that area is undone by him when he is off work

She doesn't give Zeus a minutes peace though and is always hanging off him, he encouraged this type of play when she was tiny but I think she's a bit too rough with him now as she does make him yelp from time to time. I'm not sure what to do about this as I think Zeus needs to knock her down a peg or two and put her in her place.
