Teddies!
How dangerous are they? I gave my pup Kaiser a bunny the other day, it was wearing dungarees. It is now deaf, blind and naked and is having his brains (stuffing) ripped out.... I didn't manage to get the eyes off him in time He swallowed one whole!

We buy teddies in bulk from the charity shop for Blitz, that's all he will play with.
Fortunately, he is a ripper, he just rips things off and spits them out so he can rip more off, same with the stuffing, just pulls it out bit by bit and spits it out but I always remove eyes and noses and tags. Also, if they have a bean bag inside I cut them open to remove it, half to protect his tummy, half to make tidying the house quicker and easier, those bags are a nightmare!! xx

Hmm looking at the floor it seems that Kaiser might be a ripper I'll start cutting eyes and noses off though and remove the bean bags! He has a mania for sticks as well lol

Trust me, you will regret it if you miss the bean bag, I did it once by accident, Nearly 2 months on, I am still finding them!! lol
Blitz's other thing is balls, thats probably because we only give him them when we are out but if he manages to find one at home it's gone in 30 seconds lol xx

Zeus and Maisy love their teddies..........I remove the eyes, nose, beans etc and patch the area before I give them to the dogs, (we have some very scary/wierd looking toys pmsl). Zeus is pretty good with them now he's older but Maisy tries to destroy everything she gets! They rip them when they play tug, I take them away once damaged, I don't mind making minor repairs but bin them if they are too far gone. We get cheap teddies from carboots
Mine are terrible for sticks too, they sneak them inside and chew them up. I got them a safe-stick to play with as an alternative.

I saw a post on here the other day which warned of using kids toys for dogs as they contain a substance that is fire retardant and also poisonous to dogs. It has put me of using old charity shop toys I must say.

What's a safe stick? He is mad for sticks as well, shreds them all over the carpet! He's also ripped his ropes to shreds lol, in fact, I think the only thing still in one piece is his 'floatee' ball. Someone the other day told me about the poisonous material, does worry me a bit too

Get him a stag bar, best longlasting chew that doesn't splinter + is nutritious because it's natural
Dogs are destructive because they're bored, please don't give toys made for humans because bits can be swallowed and please don't give rawhide chews because they're dangerous

When it comes to inside toys........Sam would rip most things up when we first got him,.. but not now, I think it is like anything else, you can train your dogs not to rip up, or chew toys,... I havent seen any of mine chewing a toy for ages, but if I do, they get told not to and thats it.
As for outside toys, well thats different, the leather football lasts a long time, but it doesnt look like a ball for very long.
I dont use sticks, I never throw them, there is no such things as a safe stick, too many dogs have had them go down the throats on catching up with them to warrant the risk,..Kee being one many years ago
