Max's poo was soft when we got him. Worked with the vet to get him settled and eventually the best food has ended up being Royal Canin GSD Juinor. As soon as we put him on that he immediately improved.

It is expensive, but we've now managed to give him other treats for training with little effect.

(My other dog - not a GSD - had a sensitive tum as a pup too, she was about 9 months before we could get her on normal feeding)

Might be good to consider the protein that has been fed whilst the tummy was upset. For example if it was chicken, might work to change to a fish based food as the stomach may have developed an intolerance to chicken.

When I fed a dry complete, Diesel coped better with fish based foods rather than chicken....

Bentleys poo is getting better but still not what i call solid doggy poo
he is eating royal cannine junior for large dogs over 25kg which the vet put him on .We are cutting out the chicken and fish gradually

So far we are going out side to toilet wee and poo's and the paper in the house as well he goes to the door sometimes to go out by him self and also goes out with the older one.
He sits down when told too , 8 out of 10 times he gives his paw goes up the stairs but not allowed down by him self yet as our stairs are steep chases his toys when we throw them for him lol and chews up peoples ankles so am pretty pleased with him but with sore ankles
2nd Jab next monday which will be good as then he can go for walkies ( gonna be fun as he dont like the lead) with his older friend

thanks all for the help and its been a long time since i have had a GSD puppy in the house as My Max is 14 this year

Glad things are improving a little for Bentley.
I would attach a short lead to him now, while he is in the house, and let him walk around with it, he will hopefully be more used to it when it comes for going outside.

Dont leave him un-attended with it on though

oh poor boy sounds like he has been through the mill himself... the breeder didnt sound helpful???

anyway glad he is on the mend and in a good home now that will look after him ...

on top of a possible infection he has had his food changed quite a bit and this wouldnt have helped... but i am sure this will all settle soon and you will have a bouncy happy puppy ...

take care
Margaret
