8 week old pup has soft poo?

Last sunday i got a new family member Bentley 8 week old gsd . when we picked him up he was sick and had the runs on the wayhome. Fine put that down to being taken from mother and travelling ect. Took him to the vets friday for jabs and vet said he had a temp so didnt do jabs as he has the runs and really soft poo since we had him . vet said chicken rice fish and eggs and changed his food to Royal canin Pediatric over 2 month old food . So my question is how long do they have soft poo as i cant remmember as my old man (gsd) is 14 in august and its been a while .
Also when he poos he sounds like he is yawning?
He was wormed and had flea treatment on friday
Hopefully the vet will give him his jabs on thursday this week

sounds like he may have a slight infection with having a raised temp - should settle with the food in a couple of days - none of mine have had soft feaces on collection from breeder - did they feed him the day of travel as this may have unsettled him - only one of mine that was sick was travelling back from Isle of Walney

To be honest the people we collected him from were very vauge as to what food they had given him i was told just the cheap puppy food and biscuits from tescos.. but i asked if they had any and was told oh no we have run out. he was the last pup there . i seen the mother who looked as she had been dragged through a hedge backwards and a little thin but asumed because she had been feeding her pups ( told she had 6). so i got butchers puppy and bakers puppy biscuits for him . the first day his poo was like water but it had thickened up slightly ( bit gross i know sorry)
He is now on fish and the food from vet but its still really soft . i cant remmeber my others poo being like it when they were younger. I lost my bitch nearly 2 years ago who was my old boys daughter when she was 8 so its been a while since i have had a baby in the house.
