I too am a big crate fan - had never used one until I got a rescue a couple of years ago, and was told by the Rescue. Have used one with Mason since day one, and he loves it. I picked up a 48" off Ebay for £30 a month or two ago.

I agree with everyone else's suggestions, but do wonder if he just isnt going for 'down-time'. If I am at home with Mason, he settles quite happily after a good walk, but if it's the OH home, he is a pain in the a*ss. Mason just doenst switch off. Are you able to put him somewhere quiet after his morning exercise, so he's not looking for attention all of the time?

Might have to invest in a crate, today he stole, and destroyed, my new toilet rolls, my bin bags and my yoghurts I'd just got in from taking the cat to be microchipped and had nipped to asda on the way home. Still trying to get the cat and dog accustomed to each other so put the bag by the fridge then put the cat in a cage in my living room, went out to get the dog and he had ran into the garden, left a half eaten yoghurt pot in the middle of the kitchen, another by the back door along with the bag and left a trail of chewed up toilet roll leading up to him in the garden with all 4 chewed up. Cleaned it up then he later appeared with the bin bags, which had vanished earlier monster!
