Growth

Kaiser is now 7 months old. I have been told by several people that german shepherds keep growing upwards in height until 12 months of age and then they start to fill out. Is this correct? I measured him today and he is 26 inches so if he still has a lot of growing upwards to do then he's going to be massive!
I realise it isn't set in stone but I'm guessing that there is some general rule of thumb?

I think I would move that `12 months` a little further on into the teens,.. but generaly speaking you are right,.. but of course the older he gets the slower the growth becomes, and you maight not even notice the change,..untill you look back at photos

thanks hoping he doesn't get too much taller! More height probably means more filling out which means a heavier beast to lug about!

wildmoor has disabled reputation
growth slows down at 6 month by the time they are 12mth it is minimal so maybe a few mm between 12-14mth

I think they grow quite rapidly until 6 months then the rate slows down! I would say they are at thier height at about 1 year with filling out after that! Although my boy Storm has grown a further inch after a year!
