Night time wee + poop !! Please helpppp
Just wondered if anyone could tell us if it's "normal" that Lola (16 weeks) is weeing + pooping overnight, on the pads but still it is getting a bit expensive, our problem is that she won't make a sound to go out, during the day if the door is open she will always go outside, and last thing at night when we I take her out before bed she does a "busy" when I ask straight away (last feed is at 6pm) If it is "normal" when will it end and should I buy another 56 pack of pads or just a 7 pack (wishfull thinking lol)

Forget to say that the last "busy" outside is around midnight.

Hello
Are you leaving her with a lot of water through the night? If so this could be encouraging her to pee, so maybe try leaving her with a few ice cubes instead of a whole bowl of water.
Does she do all her business at midnight, ie a poo and a wee?? Is she crated at night or given the run of the house?
If I'm honest I wouldn't be overly worried as she is still only 4 months, and if she's going on the pads she knows how to be clean I think her little bladder can't cope with the wait to go out - might be worth getting up earlier to take her out just until she gets a bit older but I wouldn't have thought this would go on for too much longer. Diesel was going through the night by 4.5months

I recommend keeping her in a small area, it will encourage her to "hold" it for a little while. Did that with my Tess and she was clean at night by 4 months.

Hi
Barney was 8 months before he could hold it all night. He had his last trip outside at around midnight, then I had to let him out at about 5.30am, otherwise we had a mess behind the front door. It was painful getting up at that time, but worth it, not having to clean up the mess

we would always let my two out as late as possible and leave them out for a hour if the weather allowed. Also I walk my two quite late but feed early. Its just a case of working out the schedual that will work for your dog. Wasable floors are also a godsend lol!

Thanks for all the advice, she isn't caged at night but is confined to kitchen/conservatory so quite a large space, she is tbh one big wee and poo factory, I would say she has 3-4 poos in a 24hr time incl the nightime one, we do leave her with water through night so maybe thats the answer, failing that I guess its an early start for me 2moro. Again today she did a poo on floor as we had shut the back door cos of rain, but had been out in garden for an hour before, only left her on own whilst putting washing away and when I returned nice little pile for me! I feel such a failure :-( but it does help to chat

Went through it with Tess. Thought I was hopeless coz she wouldnt cotten on to asking to go out but it suddenly clicked and she's really good now. Dont give up, it will happen. I strongly recommend limiting her space of a night just for a short time and during day work out her best time to mess (ie straight after food) and put her out. They are such a clever breed they catch on well. And be really silly happy when they do it outside (they just love us looking like plonkers!)

Don't beat yourself up, she's still only a baby and she will get it. I used to take Diesel out to the garden every hour when he was that age and go hyper excited when he did anything outside and when it came to through the night it would be late night toilet break and a very early morning one....Diesel was also never one to let you know he wanted to go out which is why I just took him out regardless.
Keep doing what you're doing, don't get disheartened you're making great progress already as she's going on the pads We're here to chat when you want to
