excitable Weeing

Hi i have had Khan for a month now and although he is still a little timid he has developed a strong bong with me. This is lovely to see however he now gets so excited when i make a fuss of him or see him after being out he wees. I understand that this may still be poor bladder control as he is only 1 year old but you can imagine the amount of urine that comes out of a gsd is immense and i am wondering whether anyone has experience of this or any tips. Other than the excitable weeing he is completely house trained and never toilets indoors.

Diesel went through a stage of doing this with my o/h and we were told to ignore him when we came in until he was calm and then fuss him but never to be too overexicted when you're fussing him.

We did this and I have to say the peeing stopped with a few weeks and he's never done it since.

Hi Helan , this sounds like submissive urination, dont worry about he will grow out of it and just think yourself lucky that you havent got a dominent dog otherwise you would have more problems.
