Aggression?
My 7 month old gsd bitch is wel socialised. Today though a little dog turned on her. Now normally she would retreat, bt not this time she growld bare her teeth and chased it off. Was this a case of missy having enough? Or something more .

So hard to say from what you say, but she is at a stage when she is quite capable of haveing a go back if she wanted to,..but I dont think dogs get those thoughts of `having enough`, it would have been something else,.. I assume she was she off the lead if she chased it off?
If this doesnt normaly happen then I dont think its a problem,..yet, but it might turn into one, if she is allowed to do this when she feels like it, she may well try to dominate other dogs,... has this other dog had a go at your dog before?, if its a regular meeting, then maybe next time they meet, you have your dog is on a lead, so that you can stop it before it happens, and try to get her to `raise above it`,...if possible

Its difficult without being there Kev, it could of been that she reacted out of fear, this can sound very aggressive when you hear it, but subtle body language will tell you. A fearful reaction will result in what can look like a bolshy attitude, when actually she is saying get out of my space etc.
It could be a friendly kind of bark, mine sound aggressive when they are playing.
It could be she was unsure in which case her tail may be wagging, but she is barking quite loudly sounding aggressive. But actually she is unsure, should i go or not
Hard to say without being there

This dog has had a pop before and she backed away. She was off the lead as she is excellent her temperment so far has been exemplary. When i said leave she did she just sounded so deadly.

Perhaps she has just got to a stage where she will defend herself from the 'rat' dog, it sounds like it needs some manners.

Thanks people . It was one of those westie dogs the owner said it was because the little dog was attackd by a gsd and only went for gsds but 5 mins later went for my pups best mate a 14 month boxer. Was worried. Could it be that maybe my pup is trying to climb the pecking order on the park?

Dogs dont see a difference in other breeds or other sizes, to a dog, a dog is a dog, no matter what the breed or how big they are,.. and [wild] dogs dont climb the pecking order like that, dogs normaly climb the `pecking order` though the social aspect of the pack, not through aggression, dogs within a pack will spar, but rarely have a serious fight, only the alfa male will have the need to defend his possition as the pack leader

She is 7 mths old and she has entered the fight or flight stage, this occassion she chose to stand her ground and fight ,insted off backing away and taking flight, nothing out of the ordanary, she seems a confident girl, well done to you .
You just stay in control of her,

Me too. She was probably 'telling it off' for being so flipping rude in a doggy way. Del does this. He is good as gold until another dog is aggressive towards him or tries to dominate him and then he will become vocal (I know what you mean- sounds like there is going to be a murder but there never is)
