Hello everyone!
Hi all!
I'm a new GSD owner- my boy Maverick is 15 weeks old today. Here he is a couple of weeks ago. I've had a GSD in the past but this one is the complete opposite in personality so it's really exciting! He is 19kg now and is expected to be medium coat length. He's black and tan and has lovely light coloured shoulders and really friendly eyes. He's afraid of the dark and only barks at his toys! He's a lovely boy and very friendly indeed. He loves his crate (puts himself to bed) and spends his time when I'm at work with my Mum's two crazy labradors. At home with me he likes to try and chase my cat who is much faster than him. Right now he's sprawled across my lap on the sofa with hiccups  Anyway that's me and Mav, I'll have more pics up soon I expect! Sophie

Some more pics of my boy, from 8 weeks up. The last one shows his colours defining a little more - he no longer feels like a puppy down his back and is becoming all coarse and grown-up
 He still has that dark dorsal stripe but in GSD style it is gradually spreading down his sides. I'll dig out my proper camera this week and take some proper pictures!

Did the breeder say he was a black and tan?

I never asked to be honest - he was just about the lightest in the litter but I picked him because of his personality. He was a lot more independent than the other pups which attracted me to him. He was from a police dog litter (I work for the dark side hahaha), so the 'breeder' as such was a group of colleagues. But Maverick didn't want to be a police dog, what with being afraid of the dark etc., which is why he is now my baby and a big softy I really hope he stays lighter coloured as I think it's lovely, but the black is starting to spread downwards and I think he'll be a bit darker. I'll get some proper pictures taken to show his colour better.
