its called a check chain, he had just come back from a walk, that was the day days i got him. He no longer has that collar any more.

sorry keyboard went a bit funny then. The photo with the check chain was taken the day i got him, i had just walked him into the garden and taken the lead off and took some photos. He no longer wheres a check collar. His old owners used to use it on him, because they didn't put any time and effort into him, and so he pulled them everywhere.

Yes i agree! i used to be a vet nurse and read a lot of papers into the damage check chains do to the dogs throat and soft tissue in the neck. Used incorrectly they can cause a lot of damage. I know many people get them as a quick fix, or because they can not be bothered to train there dogs properly. I use a plain flat collar on duke and i have been putting alot of work into him. He is very clever and is a quick learner.
