Taking pictures

Just been trying to get some pictures of my boy and in most of them the body is never in proportion with the head and then the penny dropped…….the head is closer to the camera lens and therefore looks bigger.

Cracking pics, I'd be getting those framed.

Well done, wish I could take pics as good as that!

Thanks all....I just like to capture the moment when he’s stationary (which isn’t very often).

Surprising how well the photos have turned out considering it was only from my phone.

Those are gorgeous pics - Yes it can be hard taking pics of animals - sometimes it's best to get further away and use a zoom - hope you don't mind - a forgotten pic of my boy Max at 9 weeks, and a lizard in Sidney Zoo both taken at a distance with zoom.

Lovely pics!

Mobile phones are amazing aren't they?

You would never know if the pictures were taken with an all singing, all dancing, take me to the moon and back professional camera! They seem just as good to me

Peter is righ, it's not just that the head is closer to the lens (although that's part of it) it's because you are close to the dog, the wider angle distorts proportion. If you stand further away and zoom your images will look much more in proportion.

Your photos are a little bit dark too, but you did the right thing having him in the shaded area though as the bright sunshine would've caused ugly shadows in the photo, so it was more even light in the shade. Sometimes things like getting him to sit in your doorway with you outside works well, or there's a photographers saying "first tree in the woods" where you get your subject *just* in the shade and that means they usually get a nice quality even light on them.

Hope that helps, he's a gorgeous boy.
