My Beautiful Boy Khan

Hi i am a new GSD owner!! We rescued 1 year old Khan about a month ago and although he is still a timid dog he is a different boy to the one we picked up. He is a very lazy and dopey GSD - he would rather sit and have a cuddle than play. He is very wary of men and doesn't know how to play with toys although we are getting there gradually with boy of these. He is very big for his age and people will always stop and fuss over him. I think he is a beautiful dog if not a bit scruffy and skinny still - once he puts on some more weight i think he will be a very handsome dog.

Khan is an absolute babe, I love that last pic, he's got the most gorgeous face. Well done you for rescuing him, I too am a first time GSD owner and I would never have any other breed now.

I'm looking forward to hearing all about life with Khan.

Welcome to the forum. Khan is lovely, and I have to agree with Jo, he does look sad, but I am certain that will change in time, when he regains his confidence, and settles in.

Hi thank you all for your comments. My name is Helen and i am from Colchester. Khan is the first German Shepherd i've had although i've had other big dogs in the past. I love him to pieces and i really would like to bring him out of his shell so any ideas you have please let me know.

Hiya

He has only had you in his life for a month, which isn't very long. Try not to rush him into too many new situations and take everything at his pace and I'm sure in no time he will learn to trust you and settle into your life and you will soon not be able to remember what life was like before you had him.

Time and love will be all he needs and he will soon be your best friend.

Just some pics to show you how Khan is becoming much more confident and turning into quite a cheeky chap. He is also doing very well at his obediance classes, despite the fact he refuses to be tempted by treats! Thanks for all your messages.
