Jones GoLightly
Well, what to say, our puss Jones is over 8 kilos and pretty much what you would call a fat cat. Unfortunately not a fat cat in the sense of bringing home lots of cash, just a fat cat with a lot of body weight and high sugar levels. He is now on a diet which comprises of half a pouch twice a day with 10-20g of dry food which has to be removed if not eaten after 10 minutes.
Little sod (soz sweetie) is now elbowing his way into Clays food & Clay - Clay the bloody hooj hulking scary GSD - is just letting him! It's like a pact between the pets to cover each others backs.....
Clay: Here have this, I know you're being starved..
Jones: Cool man, I'll knock that piece of beef off the side for you if you do, don't worry they'll blame me...
Clay: Thanks pal, you're a real friend..
Jones: Yeah, just keep giving me the biscuit man..
It's really not pretty atm - Jones at the vet in a month, hopefully with some weight loss as Clay is buckling under the pressure of trying to help his sugar addicted pal...
keep you posted.

Poor Jones being starved!
My uncle had 2 siamese cats and a boxer. The cats would break into the fridge and pinch food, and flick bits out to the dog otherwise the dog would bark and alert everyone to the cats antics!

A similar sort of thing goes on here. We have 4 siamese cats and they go between Ted's legs and eat out of his bowl, regardless if he is eating out of it. They are sooooo cheeky. Unfortunatley there is nothing in it for him. Unlike Jones, they don't often give back. The occasinal bit of of cat food flicked his way but he is very respectful of the felines and whatever they say goes in this house.

LOL Tedsmum, love the pic. Pretty much what Jones would want to be happening here atm.
He's doing rather well with his starvation diet...going all guns for sweet cat behaviour with daddy who is buying into it lock stock and barrel. I'm the baddie atm but hey ho, not the worst thing in the world and I keep telling him 'it's tough love'! He just flicks his tail and stalks away but I'm sure deep down I'm getting to him and an intervention won't be necessary....

Well, after a very tense visit to the vets (me not him) I can report that Jones has lost 3/4 of a kilo and is now 7lb 6! Really happy and so proud of him. Next weigh in is Nov 5th (but 10am so no bangs and whizzes at that time of the morning) and fingers crossed for a bit more weight loss

Jones the duck filled fatty puss made it down to 6.30kg at last weight in before Christmas. Unfortunately he went into the cattery over the Xmas period (along with Clay the heavyweight GSD, 57kilos) whilst we visited my parents on the Isle Of Lewis. Fab time had by all but mucho feelings of guilt & abandonment over this festive period so fat puss has capitalised & I'm fearful has put on LOTS of weight after stuffing huge amounts of protein rich meat on his return. Next weigh in is next Friday and I am debating making hubs take him as he has been the sole conspirator feeding strips of bacon and sausage when he thinks I'm not looking!
Next update in a week - I fear a slapped wrist and a stern talking to.
