He was nearly 14. He developed stomach cancer and was really too old to operate on. There was a strong possibility that he would have died under anaesthetic, so we made the decision to have no medication and to judge when the time was 'right'. (Is there ever a 'right' time?)
He started to pee huge clots of blood, and began to lose all his muscle and flesh. He wasn't in pain, but he was really unhappy, but he just couldn't get around and was becoming incontinent. We knew that very soon he would be in considerable pain & wanted him to go peacefully.
The hardest decision any animal lover can make.
