Sore Paws

I wonder if anyone can offer any suggestions.....Oscar my EBT was out last night in the snow and when we got home I noticed his paws were red raw and some had bled a bit, I didn't see this when we were out.

I've put some Comfrey and Calendula on them last night and this morning and I lead walked him on the snow free paths this morning but any idea what else I could do to help him, are boots the only way to stop this?

Sorry thought I'd clarify it's not the pads that are sore it's the top of his paws and between his toes...

I know but you know what they're like they never give any clue that they are in pain...although he was happy for me to touch them.

I don't think it's the grit or salt cos this happened at the park on the grass....I don't know whether to not allow him to run around but then an unexercised EBT is not good

He might.....xx

Sorry his pads aren't the problem, it's the tops of his paws....

He's running on grass...x

Dumb question, but as it's not the pads but the actual foot could it be frost bite or something? Or the doggy equivalent to chilblains?

I know my mums friend has a bull terrier, and she always puts a coat on him in cold weather because his coat isn't very dense... Wonder if it could be a cold issue like that?

Not a dumb question at all, in fact Oscar wears a coat in the cold because he really does feel it (see recent pics thread)

Tbh it looks like where the snow is so icy now it's chaffed his paws and caused the soreness.....
