Our flock of ex battery hens

In April I collected 6 very scared, thin, quiet and scruffy ex battery hens that had just been released from a battery farm by an organised rescue. They were in a sorry state when we got them, but not as bad as some I have seen. They are almost all refeatherd now and really lovely friendly pets, with the bonus of fresh eggs everyday!

Here they are enjoying life to the full

Well done you, looks like they are loving it, and they look so well. It's a shame they all don't have such a happy ending.
