Wolves in Combe Martin

I'm not sure who saw the documentary about Shawn Ellis. He rescued 3 wolf pups (Yana, Tamaska & Matsi) at 5 days old and decided to rear them as wild and to integrate himself as part of the wild pack...he succeeded! The wolves are currently residing at a wildlife park in Combe Martin so we went along to see them. Sadly Shawn wasn't there to give the talk to the public but we met a lady who works with him and it was fascinating. He is currently filming a new documentary to highlight just how endangered Grey Timberwolves are. The pack has now grown to 13, with some 5month old pups.

There is currently a petition to stop the culling of these beautiful animals in Yellowstone Park, if you feel strongly enough please sign it...

Ohh Lynn, only just seen these pics, they are stunning. How wonderful to be so close to these magnificent animals.

Thanks Jo & Janet....I only hope the petition works and we can save these gorgeous animals. It was fantastic being so close to such a wild pack, watching their behaviour was amazing.....they patrolled the perimeter whenever a person approached wearing red or yellow (they don't like these colours apparently) or when a little boy rushed towards them in an overexcited way.....but not in an overtly aggressive way but you could sense their power - fab experience!
