Coco's done a runner

Hi all
Just thought i would let u know my beloved rabbit Coco has done a runner.
I got a phone call from my husband whilst i was at work to say he went outside and his hutch door was wide open and he had gone.I have phoned animal shelter and my vet incase any body sees him. It's now been 4 hours.I have searched and called him but to no avail . We don't know how this could have happened we have had him nearly 3 years . The only thing we can think is that Sheeba might have gone to say hello which she does everyday and by accident knocked the latch .

very sad Jo

Oh no. Try not to worry too much, I've heard of rabbits that have escaped and been out all night only to appear the next morning. Have you looked in/under any sheds, bushes, etc? Might be worth leaving a cat carrier or similar out with some bedding on his in a quite area with some food in, and maybe leave the hutch open and with some kind of access (if it's not on ground level) incase he comes back overnight. Also maybe knock on your neighbours' doors to ask them to keep an eye out/check their sheds?

Hi already been to neighbours and checked their gardens .we live next to a field so been all round there. I've left hutch open for him just incase he finds his way home. The vet did say that they are not like cats and dogs and don't know where they live. Fingers crossed mine might be different

Oh Jo, you must be so upset. I was the same when our hamster ran off lol. He did come back, although, he was only lost in the house. I left a bucket in the kitchen with sawdust and food in the bottom of it, and a set of steps made out of books up the side of the bucket. He appeared in the bottom of the bucket about 3 weeks later.

I hope he comes back for you

xx

Hi still no news
Our garden is secure for Sheeba but we put a cat flap in the gate for Twinks and that is definately how he has got out ,there is no other way.
