Its bad enough that there is puppy farms out there, never mind bloody superstores opening up to promoting bad breeding, this is something I really need to see................I may have a wonder over there this weekend.
I am totally totally annoyed, they are proud to offer a 6mths guarantee *picks myself up of the floor*
I hope people who look at that website realise that this is not a place to buy a dog from.

That is exactly what this shop is, it is horrendous, and if you purchased one of the dogs, they do not tell you who is the breeder nor do you get any paperwork, however you do get a 3 mth guarantee

My mum bought her King Charles Spaniel from there 4 years ago. I didn't know she was even going to get another dog. She said she would never have another one, as they require such a commitment, and it is such a blow when you loose them. My dad had Alzheimers, and she decided that a dog would keep him more focused, so she went there and bought Charlie, without consulting anyone. Ihave to say, he is a lovely little dog, with a surprisingly good temperament, but he has also had a lot of medical problems, and has been at the vets constantly over the last few months. The amazing thing for me though, is that my mum would never have bought from somewhere like this normally, she has always gone to private breeders. I can only think that she did it on a whim. Lucy was in quarantene at this kennels when she arrived from Greece (there was no other kennels for her at the time), and mum went to visit her and then bought Charlie.
Charlie has just had to have major surgery on his neck, due to the fluid in the disks leaking and causing pressure on the spinal cord. This was huge surgery for a little dog, and 3 months later, he still has pain.
As you point out, there is no direct contact with the breeders, there is no way to find out if this is a heredity problem or anything

Apparently they are planning on opening another store in leeds sometime in 2008, I shall be receiving some campaign leaflets in the week to try and stop this from happening,
I shall be uploading the pic so you can print and distribute them, or I can send you some leaflets...............or we can stand outside the one in Manchester and hand the leaflets out

mayfield kennels is a puppy farm, theyve been going for years.ive been in there and seen dead pups lying on the floor while live pups run over their bodies.when i went to point out to one of the members of staff that there were dead puppies in the pens then just carried on talking and said oh theyll be asleep.i said no theyre dead cos other pups have run across their bodies and they arent moving.she didnt bother to come and see for herself just carried on talking to her friend.this place needs closing down.why do members of the public still go there to buy pups.dont they listen to any of the publicity about buying from a breeder?obviously not.these places buy from puppy farms especially in wales and they encourage this sort of practice by the way they sell pups.all the public see are nice puppies in a pen, what they dont see are the horrendous conditions some of these pups come from.i think if some sort of picketing was organised showing pics of the conditions some pups are kept in in puppy farms to try to educate the public especially this time of the year, maybe theyd be able to stop people buying from this place and so theyd close down.as for the guarantee and the statement that most buyers come from personal recomenadation thats a laugh!ive yet to meet anyone who has bought a pup from this place that hasnt had health problems and hasnt incurred hefty vets bills, and ive yet to meet someone who would recommend them to anyone!as for trying to claim your money back from them all ill say to that is go try it!youd be better off getting blood out of a stone!

Would you be kind enough to email me direct on your post re Dogs4Us as we have been working with Leeds Council for a year to halt the opening of another pet shop in Leeds run by the same owner. We won a prosecution against D4U by writing to the Court as we had received 9 complaints against this pet shop. Your input would considerably help our case. My emails addy is on this site.
