Bad Breeders/Puppy Farms........Disturbing Pictures

DO THESE IMAGES DISTURB YOU? THERE'S MORE ....BUT THEY ARE TO DISTURBING TO POST
Fact: Over five hundred thousand puppies are born in puppy farms every single year.
Fact: Female dogs are bred when they are just six months old and twice a year thereafter until their bodies wear out and they die at about four or five years old.
Fact: The puppies born in puppy farms/pet trade shops often have diseases, genetic defects, and emotional problems.
Fact: Many kennels do not have air conditioning. The dogs freeze in winter and swelter in summer, often dying from exposure. Puppies are known to have "cooked on the wires."
Fact: Female dogs are bred so many time their internal organs grow together.
Fact: Dogs suffer malnutrition so severe that their hair falls out.
Fact: A combination of poor food, poor conditions and no veterinary care causes their teeth to rot at early ages. Often the dogs have such gum disease their jaws rot.
Fact: Dogs often get their feet and legs caught in the wires of the cages and in the struggle to free themselves their feet or legs are ripped off.
Fact: Dogs in Puppy Farms are debarked by shoving a metal pipe down their throats to rupture their vocal cords.
Fact: When dogs are used up, they are often shot, hit in the head with a rock or dumped.
The conditions in the puppy farms/pet shops are unrelentingly brutal and terrifying. Many dogs eventually lose their minds. Their eyes glaze over and they withdraw. Frequently they develop repetitive behaviors like licking, biting their fur and going round and round in circles.
The dogs never get out of the wire kennels. They never touch the ground. They never run in the grass. Dogs are often trapped in cages with aggressive dogs and have no way to escape. Their bodies are often covered with scars.

THESE DOGS HAVE COMMITTED NO CRIME. THEY ARE NO DIFFERENT THAN YOUR BELOVED PETS. THEY LONG TO BE FREE, SAFE, WARM, AND LOVED. INSTEAD THEY ARE IN MISERABLE PRISONS SUFFERING HORRORS INFLICTED BY HUMANS - ALL FOR GREED.

PLEASE HELP STOP THIS MASSIVE, HIDEOUS FORM OF BREEDING AND SELLING DOGS. HOW?

BUY YOUR PET FROM A QUALITY BREEDER,
PUT UP A POSTERS IN YOUR AREA ABOUT PUPPY FARMS/PET SHOP TRADERS.
TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW ABOUT PUPPY FARMS.
WRITE A LETTER TO THE EDITOR OF YOUR LOCAL PAPER. CALL IN TO A TALK SHOW.
WRITE TO YOUR LOCAL COUNCIL AND ASK THEM TO PASS STRONGER LAWS TO PROTECT DOGS.

REMEMBER

All it takes for evil to prevail is

for good people to do nothing.

I am extremely grateful for http://www.petpalsforlife.org/puppymills.htm for allowing us to publish this publication

for further information how you could help us stop this barbaric breeding

I completely agree Gypsy, as much as I was deeply disturbed by the pics, people really need to know and see if for themselves.

There is also the interesting question of what is a puppy farm. Many of us regard the fact of breeding dogs purely for profit as proof of being a puppy farmer. Ie, you farm Puppies to make money in the same way as you farm Cows. The big difference of course is that there is no such thing as an unwanted cow!!!! Cows do not play with your children or are so loved that your family will take out loans to pay for vet treatment. Breeding dogs only for money leads to misuse of dogs as it is so very hard to make an honest income from breeding. The costs in rearing a carnivore are naturally hugely higher than rearing a herbivore and a carnivore needs careful rearing to be safe with your family.
The one thing that all the puppy farmers have in common though is that they LIE, they want to sell their litters and telling the unvarnished truth about their breed or their breeding programme will prevent these so necessary sales. A successful good breeder has a good relatonship with the families who buys their puppies and it is ongoing. The puppy farm sells their puppies and the measure of success is simply how much money they make.
These days the most successful squeaky clean puppy farmers will health test but they will not want you to know when the bitch was last bred or at what age. Their information however is all about the stud dog, bitches are largely anonymous. In fact names are made up for the dams as the litters arrive and are apportioned amongst the available bitches.

In contrast to the accomodating puppy farmer, the ethical breeder is often not all that friendly when you ring about puppies, precisely because they are not trying to sell to you.

Good post

when a puppy farm closed down I rescued 5 of their dogs, the circling talked about above is awful thing to witness, I tried my best to get this dog out of this habit but to no avail. The other thing I noticed with this dog is that he would poo on the edge of his kennel as far away as possible, I couldnt understand this, until I spoke to someone who knew the puppy farm involved, it was apparent that the dogs were only cleaned out on a weekly basis, hence the poo at the end got closer & closer to the sleeping area as the week progressed poor soles!!

all of the 5 I had are rehomed & doing well but the one, when stressed still does the circling, but hes fab he lives with my friend & is having the life of riley
