If you chase after them they just think its a great game The best thing to do (if you can) is turn and walk/run away. Most GSD's don't really like being left on their own and will run after you.
I always used to periodically hide whilst out on walks - it kept their attention on me. They never knew when I was going to disappear!!!
I once caught a woman's collie for her, she had been trying to catch it for over an hour and was really frantic. The dog just thought it was a great game. I had a pocket full of small pieces of cooked liver, got a handfull and threw them in the air so that they scattered all over the grass. Dog came forward to try and pick each tiny piece up and she was able to get hold of its collar. She had no treats/toys or anything - think she took some out with her after that!!!

Bonnie is being a right wee madame atm and really testing me, she is just NOT listening to commands that she KNOWS already.
Funnily enough, recently when outside in the garden and I call her in she has being giving me the deaf ear

so Ive been like 'sod you, stay out there then!' and shut the door on her, next thing I know she is clawing at the door wanting in

Yesterday on our walk she saw a dog she knows when we came to the end of the walk, she wanted to go to it but I told her 'no' and to come back because the dog was near the road and she has no road sense
what so ever well madame decided that she was going and thats that! so I said bye then and ran the other way, she came running after me lol
