Zee won't look for trouble but if a dog starts on another or if rough play gets a bit nasty she'll intervene and tell the dog who started it off. I call her the Fun Police!

When Nero was here, he was forever trying to have a go at Sam... the first tme it happened I told Sam `No` and he turned away,... he never once retaliated, he was always very good, and would always turn his head, this is what has made me intruduce Sam first in the past,... but maybe I will try Jazz

I guess it also has a lot to do with the dog you are meeting and the oppinion of its owner, they will also have a good idea how their dog is likely to react

LOVEGSD is just really niceLOVEGSD is just really nice
I think it should always be 1 on 1 greetings in an ideal situation, it's good manners.

With our pack in the morning we wouldn't allow all 7 dogs to descend on 1, it's scary for the lone dog but if they go in 1 at a time it makes for a more pleasant greeting and we've seen ours do this without commands from the owners, it was great to watch. I would also do the same as Anni in that if either of mine were way too excited on approach then I would turn aruond and walk away, then try again.

Diesel was confronted the other day by a Pitbull and a Rottie, both charged him at speed, he stood stock still and let them sniff all over him but I could tell by his body language he wasn't comfy but sadly the owner of these dogs didn't see it as an issue 'cos his dogs are friendly', potentionally this could have resulted in a fight if Diesel hadn't taken the option he did of freezing.

Anni - Diesel is also known as the fun police
